Large Account Sales Representative - Northern Ag

This individual will sell whole-goods, parts, and service as a customer solution and build long term relationships within territory to maximize company profitability and market share.
They must have strong communication skills and are expected to take time, effort and show a willingness to meet the customer's needs and expectations.

Specific Duties Include:

+ Use Sales Advantage to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related sales activity. Use of the system should contribute directly to
the proposal process, winning the sale, volume, territory awareness, participation and customer satisfaction.

+ Represent the company for the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area.

+ Keep current on product knowledge, features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the company.

+ Keep abreast of competitive activity and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends.

+ Maintain, as directed by the Large Acoounts Manager, current and complete Sales Management information for all customers in the assigned territory.

+ Conduct field demonstrations as assigned.

+ Maintain in good, usable and current condition (electronic and/or paper as directed) all manuals, price lists and other documents.

+ Accurately complete all documents related to sales transactions.

+ Maintain strong knowledge of used equipment values and be able to evaluate properly for trading purposes.

+ Approve receipt of all whole goods and verify completeness of receipt by comparing to whole good order.

+ Work in conjunction with Sales Manager, responsible for follow-up and expediting of whole good orders.

+ Test-operate machinery at customer work site.

+ Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

+ Sell machine maintenance and repair services, repair parts, and extended warranties.

+ Follow up on each sale.

+ Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

+ Pickup and deliver equipment as needed.

+ Prepare reports for business transactions and keep expense accounts.

+ Attend training classes and store meetings.

+ Perform any other special duties as requested by the general manager, sales manager, and or other department personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.

+ Represent and promote RDO Equipment Co. and fellow employees in a positive and professional manner at all times.

+ Use and maintain Company facilities and equipment in a professional and safe manner.

+ Demonstrate a willingness to learn.

+ Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

+ Represent RDO Equipment Co. in a professional manner at all times.

+ Attend required company meetings and participate in constructive discussion.

+ Participate in any and all appropriate trainings.

+ Conduct self in the presence of customers so as to present a professional image of RDO Equipment


+ Good understanding of local conditions with a knowledge of sale and resale values of particular machinery.

+ Must be a self starter

+ Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Good computer skills.
